What, hook up to the ISP via fiber so as to get web access??? I think
there is almost NO reason for the ISP's when the public realizes that the
fiber will give them DIRECT web access, and the ability to serve the web
from their own machines!

If anyone said it would cost about 50,000 lives, more than World War
II, it would have never happened! Convincing them how it would save more
lives from better genetic mixing, (vs genetic inbreeding causing the Amish
problems,) to-hospital transportation, etc. would have been a Real Tough
Job!

Sure, there will be e-mail stalking, financial flim-flam schemes,
porno, and things that we have not even imagined yet. But we have barely
begun to imagine the benefits!

We need to understand that progress nearly always generates a pile of
dead bodies somewhere; we need learn to weigh that pile against the pile
of bodies accumulating from the lack of progress. (Hmmm... I've been
dancing between those two piles myself the past fifteen years due to
medical problems...) We did so decry space flight as unsafe after
Challenger, when on a per passenger mile basis, our space fleet was one of
the safest modes of transportation known to man!

Heads up! Statisticians at the Ready! Forward March!
