In addition to bobby (an excellent resource), I've also used:

Doctor HTML (http://www.imagiware.com/RxHTML/)
Doctor Watson (http://watson.addy.com/) (temporarily unavailable)

and a program called 'browserola' (I believe you can find it at
www.download.com).

But, are global issues just about old browser compatability? I would imagine
that languages & customs and even usage habits would be just as much if not
more so of an issue. Although, I suppose we're a long way from having a cgi
script that will run to say, "Rural Russians live an a agrarian lifestyle
with heavy emphasis on equality and community and therefore will take
offense to your navigation scheme which relies on singling out the 3 main
areas of your site..."

...or something like that...

are there other issues to be dealt with?

Our bodies are garbage heaps: we collect experience, and from the

fertile soil. Out of this fertile soil bloom our poems and stories.

Hi, Jason -- what do you mean by "global friendly"? You can use Bobby to
check for accessibility issues, which is valuable information --
particularly for people who might be accessing your site with less than the
latest version of the big two browsers:

It's a good idea to hire good writers who know how to write
"idiom-slang-free" prose.

Anecdote -- I sent an e-mail to a person in England, off list, using some
American slang for "thanks - I agree - great job" (I don't remember the
details). She wrote back, with a "huh?" I explained. It turned out that
whatever slang I had used meant exactly the opposite in England.....

Shoulda used "good on ya ...." <g>
