They'll always get you for taxes one way or another (assuming
you're prepared to be legit), it just takes them a a while to figure
out what is owed where. We earn regularly in Denmark, the US,
Japan and New Zealand at present and tend to sort out our tax
situation in those countries, primarily because New Zealand has a
reciprocal arrangements.

The tax people are usually up to scratch -- try dealing with
Customs! We had a government grant to assiste with our fancy
TurboPress system and ran into some problems when we
"imported" software from the States. It was actually imported, as it
was just emailed, but Customs are still trying to figure out what to
do in that sort of situation and even the accounting type people and
tax lawyers weren't too sure what the situation was. "Fluid" was
the term used, if I recall correctly.

So there's a lot of work that needs to be done in these sort of
government administrative bodies to find a reasonable (one hopes)
and workable (one expects) way through the ever-increasing
complexities of wired life.

Cheers,
Vicki
