You're right, Barry. I had a similar experience with saving jpegs out of
Photoshop 5 ProJPEG vs. ImageReady just a week or so ago. I've long sworn by
ImageReady for optimizing GIFs, but hadn't realized until then how much much
smaller it makes JPEGs.
It took me awhile to get around to switching over from Photoshop 4 to v5,
but now I'm glad I did. The typesetting tool and layer effects tools are
perfect for Web work--incredible timesavers. Sure is nice to have editable
text without using Illustrator. I also like being able to edit a layer
without have to remake drop shadows.
I'm crazy for both programs. Now I wonder about Photostyler--has Adobe come
up with yet another way to drain my checkbook? Has anyone used it?
