Well the basic thing is that divorce is a legal term annument is a religious one. The Catholic church only recognizes you are marriued if you undergo the Act of Catholic marriage( the sacrament) to reverse that the only way is to have an Annulment. Divorce may be legal but it is not religious. If you get married only by a JOP and get divorced you would not be considered married by the church as you never really got married in the eyes of the church.
