A jet pilot has sent a rugby crowd diving for cover
after spectators mistook his fly-by in support of his
team, for a suicide terror attack. The incident happened
as the New Zealand pilot flew low over the Jade
Stadium. One woman said her husband had rung
her from the stadium in a state of shock. She told
the paper: "He thought that they were all done for.
When the Hercules banked around, flying low, and
was heading straight for them, he thought that the
aircraft must have been stolen or taken over by
terrorists, and they were all about to die."
Police in Zimbabwe have arrested a thief who
allegedly disguised himself as a ghost and robbed
foreigners at a tourist site. Police say the thief
worked naked with his body daubed in ash. He
is accused of taking goods and money worth 20
million Zimbabwe dollars (�232,000) over a
four-year period from tourists visiting the Great
Zimbabwe monument, an ancient stone-walled
citadel.
A grieving Romanian family had to postpone a
funeral after discovering that the corpse appeared
to have grown a moustache. The family of Radu
Leonte, who died aged 38, in Roznov, had been
given the wrong body by the morgue. But the morgue
directors insisted the family had the right body and
said "people can change after they die". Apart from
the moustache, the body was also taller than Mr
Leonte, according to his brother Eusebiu Leonte.
He said: "The dead man they gave me was dressed
in the clothes we brought and put in our coffin. But he
had a moustache and was rather taller, which was
not like my brother. I told the man who was in charge
about the confusion but he insisted that I should take
the corpse home saying that people can really change
when they die." Mr Leonte finally found his brother's
body and took it home for the funeral which had to
be postponed until the following day.
