A suspected drink-driver drove into jail after realising
he couldn't escape from a police chase. The 22-year-
old led police on a chase which often moved as
slowly as 20mph. It ended when he turned into the
Brown County Jail's parking lot in Green Bay,
Wisconsin, US. Police say the man parked his
pickup in the jail's lot, smoked a cigarette, got out
of the truck and lay face-down on the ground to be
arrested. He allegedly told the officers he knew
he was drunk and was going to be sent to jail,
so he just drove there.
(Warning... petlovers, you better don't read this!)
A man has been arrested after allegedly microwaving
his girlfriend's dog. Police say Everette S Howze of
Springfield, Illinois, was jealous of the amount of
attention his girlfriend was giving the pet. He is being
held in the Sangamon County Jail where he is facing
a possible charge of animal abuse-aggravated cruelty.
The police were called to Howze's home by his
girlfriend. When they arrived, they found a pillowcase
on the front porch that contained the remains of a
small brownish-black dog.
A petrified resident frantically called police after a
man dressed in ski goggles and salopettes turned
up on his doorstep with a roaring chainsaw. Fearing
he was about to be taken apart limb by limb the
desperate "victim" dashed to the phone to alert
officers of the impending bloodbath. But police
who raced to the address in Atwater Close, Lincoln,
arrived to find the chainsaw-wielding offender gone.
It later transpired the menacing character waving
the 3ft-long power tool had in fact got the wrong
address for a fancy dress party. Police said he had
been intent on making a dramatic entrance to the
soiree and was dressed as hell-raising rap star
Eminem.
