German police have discovered a 54-year-old woman
who has been living with her aunt's mummified body for
the past 18 months. The woman had lived with her 89-
year-old aunt in the town of Ostfildern-Ruit close to
Stuttgart, where they had also run a grocery store together.
Neighbours alerted police after the grocery store had
remained shut for several months and there had been
no sign of the two women.
Growing numbers of Japanese women are said to be
modelling their pubic hair on David Beckham haircuts.
According to the the Mainichi Daily News the trend is
most popular among office workers. Apparently there
are three basic cuts. 'Soft Beckhams' are those where
the hair is allowed to grow freely but it curls back to form
a natural peak. 'Popular Beckhams' involve brushing the
hair into a Mohican, while 'Hardcore Beckhams' require
the wearer to dye the top of the Mohican an eye-catching
colour.
Police in Romania have fined a motorist for failing to
reduce his speed when passing a rabbit. Nicolae
Balaita was fined �10 - the equivalent of a week's
wages - after he hit and killed the rabbit near Adjud.
Mr Balaita: "I hit the rabbit because there was no way
for me to avoid it. I decided to go to the nearest police
station because my car's bumper was broken and
I thought I'd have problems later if I didn't report the
incident." He says the fine was handed out by animal-
lover, sergeant Nelu Spiroiu. Mr Balaita: "When the
policeman saw blood on my car, he went completely
crazy. He fined me, checked my blood-alcohol levels
and wouldn't accept my excuse."
