Hmm, OK, changing that to (var > 0 ? var : -var) is easy enough.
I've accounted for the "both units die" scenario for regular combat; what
happens is the unit killed by the actual attack goes through its death
(animation and events), then after that's done, the unit killed by the drain
goes through its death.
However, I haven't taken it into account in the attack predictions; I think I
have more work to do on that part in general, actually.
