Dear all,
I have been reading your comments with intrigue and am at a total loss for
words for the following reasons.

   - The district officials are claiming not to know anything!! Give me a
break the district environmental officer/NFA should be our first point of
reference. How on earth do we subject our environment to investors!! For
crying out loud are investments worth more than preserving our environment.
   - Secondly we should put it to task and ask Tullow to iron out the rumor
going around..for there is no smoke without fire
   - Finally a petition should be drafted and addressed to all the key
stakeholders and lets blow this thing nationally (Media
and environmental NGOs) In addition we should rally the locals to sign a
   petition opposing this move.
   - Even the MOU the municipal and NFA have entered into is questionable!
Am sure there is a lot more land to be given away as opposed to forests. It
is bad enough that Arua exhibits semi arid tendencies chopping down the
forest is only going to exacerbate the situation.
   - I agree with the proposal that the prisons land should be given away.
   - on this one i am willing to work with Caleb to resolve this matter.
   - as for the RDC he needs to explain to us the lay people who this person
   giving orders from above is!
   - As for the Golf course in this era of privatization i would suggest
that Municipal out sources this service. better still they can ask the
Uganda prisons to hire out the prisoners since they use the same prisoners
   to do their personal work

Merry christmas
