>> No, you don't need to install anything on the systems being monitored, as long as they are running Windows 2000 or XP. >> If
they are running NT 4.0 you might need to install the Windows

I
have a question regarding this . I was trying to understand
how this work without an agent on the device , but as far as i
understand
Wug
will call the WMI and ask him to collect a specific
event log and send a notification to WUG when it
occurs ... correct
???
So, on the
device , there must be a place somewhere , maybe in the WMI
registry , where the IP of the WUG is registered , so the
WMI
knows
where to send the notification ....correct
???
If i am
wrong , can you please explain to me how all
this
work...
And if i am
correct , it brings the following
question;
Lets
say i configure WUG to monitor a specific
event on a device . And 2 months later i decide i
don't need to monitor this
device
anymore, so i delete it
from the map. Will the device continu to
send notifications to WUG ? Do i have to remove
the Event
monitoring
before i
delete the device
?
thanks
