I figured out what the problem was. I needed to have the service start as the administrator of our domain. Once I made that change, I started to receive email alerts from the event viewer.

Thanks for the reply. However, I still can't get WUG to receive event viewer information from remote servers. All the servers are 2000 DC's and have the WMI installed on them. Auditing is turned on on all the servers and I have the events defined in WUG. As I said before, it works on the server that has WUG installed, but that's all. TIA for any help.

No, you don't need to install anything on the systems being monitored, as long as they are running Windows 2000 or XP. If they are running NT 4.0 you might need to install the Windows Management Instrumentation Core (WMI CORE), which is a component of Windows that comes from Microsoft.
The WhatsUp Gold Windows Events service runs only on the WUG system to act as the collector.
