I do, but only when pushed. I'd far rather use perl. I did briefly look at how hard it'd be to have an embedded perl interpreter as a monitoring plugin, but the threading and COM aspects of it are pretty much new to me - C++ is not my day-to-day thing - I am a network/system admin with an interest in writing my own tools where I need them.
