I have successfully backed-out 8.04 patch, but it's ugly...here's how I did it:

1. Backup your entire WhatsUp program folder.
2. Uninstall WhatsUp
3. Reinstall WhatsUp 8.0
4. Install 8.03 Patch
5. Install 8.03HF2 patch
6. From the backup folder, copy services.ini, hosttype.ini, gallery.ini, mib.txt, and traps.txt back to the actual program folder.
7. Start WhatsUp.

It's not perfect, though, you still have to reconfigure things like the webserver and log rotation, and automatic map loading on startup.

Anyways, it's not pretty, but it worked for me...

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] WUG 8.04 patch - UP with no DOWN alert?

I just installed the WUG 8.04 patch and it seems like it's exhibiting the same behavior in WUP that people have been complaining about -- UP alerts with no corresponding DOWN alert.

I haven't tested this sufficiently yet, but I did receve a few UP alerts for devices that missed only 1 ping when my alert trigger for DOWN notifications is 2.

Has anyone else installed this patch yet and are you seeing the same results or is it just me?

Jim
