Just to be clear: I don't think it should not happen, I just agree it has
some downsides, this being the main obstacle I see.

And maybe a country that organizes the competition for the first time is
not the best placed to experiment. I rather see they first try what has a
proven track record in other countries, and implement the improvements
already figured out in for example India.

Anyway, experimenting is good - but organizing something like WLM in your
country for the first time is already quite an experiment in itself, so in
hindsight I do agree that it makes sense not to devolve too much from the
'common denominator' in such a situation.
