Do you have an 80 column card in it? I still have a working Apple IIe with the "extended" 80-column card that also held a whopping 64K of extra memory and the DuoDisk floppy enclosure. Monitor is Apple with green text display.

I programmed that machine in 6502 assembly language, because Basic wasn't fast enough. A Z80 with Cromemco CP/M and Z80 assembly language subroutines was better for gathering data from various lab instruments. Also had to make my own A/D converters. I bet Richard.be can relate to that. :)
