Yes, I can relate to that! I made a simple electric piano interface for my
"PC", with 6 parallel ports for the keyboard contacts & an 8253
timer/counter for sythesising 3 notes (from the last 3 keys pushed). It
sounded OK when played fast!
80-column cards in an Apple? Are you sure? AFAIK, 80-column cards are
punched cards, like those used in certain states to record votes during
certain elections ;-). We don't want to confuse the younger members of the
list by mixing technologies!
