My friend's wife Dell Celleron 2.4 Ghz has been running very slow lately.
For example, she tried bringing up the calculater a few minutes ago by
clicking Start - Run - and typing calc. Took 50 seconds. Everything els
e
running slow as well though. She's done a safeboot. She runs 3 or 4
different spypware removal programs daily and AVG anti-virus. Uninstalle
d
programs not used, and even one she does (iTunes for her iPod) because
that was causing more problems than anything else. She didn't have to
reinstall iTunes though. She deleted the download, deleted the
directories, and even did a search looking in hidden and system folders t
o
look for iTunes and deleted them. It re-installed it's self on reboot.
Oh well, she did want it back. Just wanted to uninstall to see if iTunes
was the problem.
She doesn't want to put a lot of time into fixing it because she's gettin
g
a new one in a month or 2 (not Dell or Gateway, something nice and
upgradable) but I'm getting it after she transfers what she wants to
keep. :)
Any ideas what might be wrong?
