I agree Wayne.  I recommend to my clients that they let me clean and 
service their machine every six months or so!  Problem is, few do!  
They tend to see it as an un warranted expense !!

I don't make any attempt to stock fans for each video card or chipset!  
I do carry a few generic sizes of fan !  There are techniques to 
adapting a fan to fit, or fitting a fan where there wasn't one before !

The basic problem with any fan, is down to the way that its constructed 
and simply because it is a fan !!  The air flow pushes dirt, dust and 
grit into the body of the fan.  Once in there it is very difficult to 
clean it out.  Lubrication helps, but the cure is just to replace it.

In the early days, I used to have an ultrasonic bath which did a 
fantastic job of cleaning !  Apart from the fluid being quite expensive 
to replace, it also removed the lubricant!!  This meant that you had to 
strip the fan anyway to re-lubricate it.
