Hi
The old one was good, but was replaced with a new one when the hanging started.
Going to switch IDE headers and will try another new cable at that time.

Hi

After 3 days of not being able to access windows due to 1000 +
bad or unreadable files in chkdsk,
which did not finish due to hang, I ran Barts Pe and moved all of my
data, email etc. to another
partition and backed up to USB HD, did not repair any files only
moved them around.
Tried to start windows again and to my supprise it started with no
errors (normally) and ran
fine for 15 minutes before hang. While it was running I started Asus
Probe (actually it runs
whenever the system runs ) and set it to record CPU and MB temps.
Ran a movie trailer as they are pretty intensive and checked the
temps, the graph lines were rock
solid and steady beginning at 48C for CPU and leveling off at 49C and
the MB was 30C at
start and leveling off at 32C after the movie trailer. Soon after it
hung again!!
Upon restarting the temp graph showed no temp increase at the
time of the hang, after 4
hangs and restarts the graph line was straight with no rises or dips.
I don't believe that defective files on the hd can fix
themselves and I do not have ecc ram
which I doubt can do this either, what is left but the MB????

Thank You Joe Harrison
