That was the interesting part, Jim. She claimed that the supported no other
browsers other than IE6.
Jeff
When I opened the message, I found that Jeff Lane had written:
Now that you mention online banking and upgrades. We have one mortgage
account with Wells Fargo. I attempted to access the account a couple of
weeks ago and it wouldn't let me in, stating that I was not using an
approved browser and that they only support IE. I am using IE7 Beta.
Called
their "tech support"(lower case intentional) and after five minutes of
"we
don't support any 'off brand' browser, Firefox included" and asking
whether
they would soon include IE7 the statement was "if it's important we will
look at it". I then asked if I was actually talking with Tech Support or
the
Sales Department......this did not go over very well....but so goes life.
Just thought I would pass on the experience
I've had an online account with WFB for ten or fifteen years and have
never had any problem with them. Tech support, if ever I needed to call,
was always helpful.
I know I must have used something other than IE at one time or another,
but can't remember for sure. At one time the earlier versions of
Netscape didn't have the correct security, but I did use Netscape for
years. Maybe that was why I switched to IE. I also have Firefox, but
don't know if I used it with Wells.
Regards,
Jim
