There is no supplied manual. All the directions amount to is "Install CD
BEFORE plugging in". Hence the google searches and the question to this
list (I prefer not to install software unless absolutely necessary).
Therefore I have no documentation on how to place two routers on one
system (I honestly didn't think it could be done).
So you are saying hook this new wireless router into my existing system
but not to plug it into the WAN port (I did not understand what he meant
when he said that, thanks). This then would make it just another switch
right? My original router would then handle all the IP addressing as
usual. Okay, cool I like that idea better than replacing my existing router.
I have now read all the "WiFi buddies" thread and I donot like the idea
of someone able to pop onto my system. The documentation supplied with
this router sucks. One leaflet telling me to use the CD before plugging
in the supplied USB adapter and an even smaller one for the adapter card
he bought. At least when I bought my router it had enough documentation
that I could figure it out.

I go from my cable modem to the WAN port on the router. Is that bad?
No that's not bad it's a must but what he was saying is use his router
as a WAP [wireless access point] on your existing LAN. Plug it in
where his laptop was & configure it only as wireless device with all
the security features turned on whether he likes it or not but please
RTFM as it has all the specifics on how to accomplish this task. If
you get stuck then just fire away with the questions & we'll see what
we can do to assist.
