Why are they charging for self-install???? If I recall, the
self-install uses a mucked-up version of IE and sets a bunch of
things you may not wish to have. I believe that you can connect
to the modem directly and set the parameters.
i think it's shipping/handling on the router. I don't what anything
installed on the computers but apparently they want you to install
some crap. I have a feeling i might end up back here to set it up...
too bad next week is chicago to visit another daughter.
My stepson has the aforementioned RCA425 cable modem and a WAP to
connect a Ethernet-ed desktop and a wireless notebook.
so this is the one computer modem? so we should get the one cable
option and our own router. (It's a good thing the kids still at home
are using my travel router for the summer, otherwise i'd probably lose
another one. :))
