We had AT&T before Comcast. Then Comcast came in and installed their
software and the S**t hit the fan. A mess for several months,
disconnections, speeds all over the map. etc., and, of course, they raised
the price from the $39.95 AT&T was charging to $55.00+. Their TS has been a
little shaky over time. I very much agree that AT&T was better than Comcast
in every way.

i can see that dealing with comcast is going to be a pita. called the

speak with someone. wish me luck, i think i'm going to need it... and
will decide i'm not going to have cable for 50 yrs. <g>
The pleasures of technology corporations. Brrrrr. Verizon is the
worst - will spare a stories.
When I call Comcast ISP TS, which I rarely do, the TS guys that
answer the phone are in my town. Most are very pleasant and helpful.
Please keep in mind, that some of present Comcast is former ATT, but
in other places Comcast is the old structure of original Comast.
They still have not gotten together completely.
Few years back, when both ATT and Comcast offered TV locally, you did
not want Comcast. It was a dog, in more ways than one. Since they
had v. small market share in our area, ATT took over their operations
and a bit later just changed the name of the whole thing. But it's
ATT that you are really dealing with here.
It could be quite different elsewhere.
