I wholeheartedly agree with this assessment, the hardware is what is *amazing* about computing. From *paper tape* (teletype) to terabyte hard drives, just to pick one at random, I'd say IS truly amazing. From the "dot" formatting commands of WordStar to formatting in Word 2003, is impressive, but I am not blown over by it. :) It may be because I'm *hardware* oriented, but still...
