I just don't get this. You paid for a product whose
specifications (including kernel compatibility) are
clearly posted (or written on the box), that product you
own and can continue to use. If you want to change your
system so that it is no longer compatible, no matter how
long it's been since you bought the product which stated
clearly at the time of purchase what its system requirements
were, I think that's your choice. But you can't expect
your decision to upgrade to place a responsibility on
Netraverse to modify the product you purchased. They
can, and they have done so for some kernels (presumably
those for which it was least resource intensive for
them) and some distros. But that was them being nice, not
them satisfying an obligation.
