Hello David,
This is usually a problem with the Win4Lin lilo entry and not actually
the
kernel. If you edit /etc/lilo.conf and add the line:
append="ide-scsi"
to the 'win4lin' entry (this line is probably already there for your
regular
kernel entry - just copy it into the same place in the win4lin entry),
save, run /sbin/lilo and reboot to the win4lin kernel, you should have
access to the CD-ROM again.
