Thanks for your comments, Guy, as well as renaming the title of this bug.

My understanding of the proper folder for .lua files is C:\Program
Files\Wireshark\plugins\2.4.0.  (the "x.y.z" version folder, not the "plugins"
folder.  When I do so, the error dialog appears per my last comment.  The same
exact dialog appears if instead use the dofile lines in init.lua.

BTW, when I copied the .lua files to the "plugins" folder, namely C:\Program
Files\Wireshark\plugins, I also get no complaints.  But if then I open a .pcap
file that the dissector should handle, it doesn't.
