Part of the info that I'd like to receive is pricing. Based on what I've
heard today, there is no reason why we cannot be given an idea of what we'll
need to be shelling out. Also a timeline (NOT a release schedule) telling us
something like 'we expect a public beta to last x days/weeks/months'.

I believe that I CAN speak for many on the list and say that I don't have
unlimited financial resources to cover the costs associated with upgrading.
I want to allocate some budget figures in the upcoming months. So giving us
a public beta is great, but having it expire either too quickly or without
advance warning could possibly force people to skip the beta for fear that
they won't be able to purchase the upgrade this month, quarter, etc. Or
giving us a beta without providing a price for a full product could scare
potential testers away.

I also agree with Alex, I'd like to see something showing us what to expect.
If there is a private beta, there is the ability to produce screen shots.

OK - that's great. But again - as I've stated 3 times now - I am not asking
for a release date that can be broken. I'm asking on WHY we should wait ANY
length of time. Why should I wait even one more minute? THAT is the gist of
it.

It seems that anybody who can say anything wants to avoid the whole gist of
the message - and corners in on that one little thing about release date.

Either WiTango 5 has really nothing to offer that's substantial over T2k to
make people stay on the Tango platform or people like to read the first
sentence of an email and ignore the rest.

Yes, I'm frustrated because all I want is some INFO - not release dates.
None of the reasons you gave were any good for keeping the INFO quiet.
