In any case, I'm looking for official info. I'll explain below. > > Also, there has been new functionality added to make the product even > better. Great - I understand that. But then there is no need to even reply. If all that can be commented on is not even the major gist of the request - then please don't add non-useful info (which is all that's been replied to). > > >>> Either WiTango 5 has really nothing to offer that's substantial over > T2k to >>> make people stay on the Tango platform or people like to read the > first >>> sentence of an email and ignore the rest. > > "Vaporware = New software that has been announced or marketed but has > not been produced" > > you have a point on the announced part, but the product was running and > shown during the announcement at the conference. > > I believe this is not a vaporware issue. They made it very clear what > was going to be in the product and they showed it live. Actually, lots of products are shown and never released or released in forms that are far less than promised. That's still vaporware. > >>> Yes, I'm frustrated because all I want is some INFO - not release > dates. >>> None of the reasons you gave were any good for keeping the INFO quiet. > > Do you know how frustrating it is to know information but can't release > it ;-) I run an ISV - so yes :) But here's the deal...I'm not looking for info from users here. I'm looking for info from the WiTango team itself. Now, you may ask why I don't go and email them directly? Well, I have before - and the part of WiTango 5 is completely ignored. Not only that, but this list as well as the announcements list is billed as the place that WiTango will communicate to us about future releases. So I'm communicating to them that I would like some public info. Some of the questions I want answered by the T5 team is: 1) Am I better off using T2k to develop and deploy using JTransit? 2) What does it offer that makes it a T5 release? Is it EXACTLY the same as Chimera (aka SP2 of T2k)? If it is - then I see no worth in T5. I'll just go with JTransit or move off to something else entirely. 3) Does T5 include the java compiler? 4) and so much more... ________________________________________________________________________ TO UNSUBSCRIBE: send a plain text/US ASCII email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe witango-talk in the message body
