Hey Dude, You have nothing to worry about here. As long as there is Mac development - there will be Windows development (and Linux, Solaris) I'm sure.
Phil's objective, that he has stated more than once on the List and at the Conference, is to just to bring the development effort of the Mac Server and Studio more in parallel with the attention given to the Windows versions. Mac users on the List have stated in the past that they often felt like second cousins to the Windows users. Phil is trying to correct this. I'm am using the Windows version of the v5 Private Beta and I have to tell you it Rocks! Both the Server and the Studio has had some serious re-write of code and much attention paid to some very low levels of detail. Nobody puts this level of attention into development of a product they are going to phase out or not market - no company can afford to through away this amount of man-hours these days. Steve said it well, MacWorld is a different animal and unfortunately the PC trade show circuit is still diluted and somewhat damaged (IMHO) from bloated expectations created by the dot-booms. Picking the right show(s) hasn't been easy. Steve has raised some good points worth further consideration. I development on Windows and plan on staying here.
