I applaud your efforts, and you've probably made the best selection for a MacWorld equivalent but the main problem is that there really isn't a MacWorld equivalent. MacWorld is a unique animal. I remember asking the same question during the 5 years that I was with EveryWare and Pervasive and the answer was the same then as it is now, there really isn't anything.

There were/are WindowsWorld, UnixWorld, LinuxWorld shows that EveryWare attended. We were also at most of the Comdex shows including Comdex Canada where I remember being in the booth. The problem I saw with the Comdex shows (and a lot of the other non-MacWorld shows) is that they just got too big. The decision makers and serious influencers realized the same thing and they stopped coming and the quality of attendee's dropped dramatically.

I'm not sure what the answer is, perhaps attending a show is good for the exposure to the press and any other group that can help spread the word. It also can become a question of "if we don't attend a show, are we sending out the wrong message". How many times have you gone to a show, looked for someone who you thought should be exhibiting and realized they weren't there. What was the first thing that crossed your mind? With me it was usually, "are they still around?"

Perhaps with the dot.com fallout, the shows will be smaller in size and the quality of attendees will be better. Three years ago, everyone had money to burn on travel expenses (or they thought they did). Now with budgets being tighter, it might be that we see a return to the decision makers and serious influencers attending these shows. I hope so because I really want to see WiTango get the exposure that it needs.

I'm keeping my eye out here for something local where I could attend to get the word out. I'm looking at Chamber of Commerce things, local networking groups, etc. where the cost would be low. I'm looking at exposure for both my company and for WiTango. Perhaps we each need to do whatever we can on a local scale to help the big picture.

My 2 cents (Cdn.)

Your wish is ... our command.

Ian Daniel, here, a North America Distributor for Witango.

We are currently negotiating with Comdex for space at Las Vegas in November.  If we close the deal, we will be inviting our Resellers to participate with us in the booth.  If Las Vegas does not work out, we will be elsewhere.  Stay tuned ...

We're all looking forward to good things with Version 5.  It should be quite a ride !!

I thought I'd give this dead horse one more kick just for giggles.....

Wouldn't it be nice to see a Witango booth at some PC conference that is the
equivalent of Macworld?  I'm not sure what conference that would be, but it seems
to me the Witango community consists of a lot of Mac users.  To make Witango
prosper, the word needs to get out to the non-Mac crowd as well.

Mike
