Spot on Robert. I reinstalled OSX Leopard/Snow Leopard and confirmed that Apache was running. I then installed Witango and found that Apache was no running.
I then uninstalled Witango using the Uninstall app and restarted Apache in verbose mode (httpd -V). It reports Architecture: 32 bit.
