Mike, you might want to reword that paragraph. Using SPLIT on the rig, i.e. checking the "Settings->Radio->Split Opertating->Rig" option in WSJT-X, is preferred. The "Fake It" option is a fallback if CAT control if your rig's SPLIT function is unreliable or unavailable. The reason that using the rig's SPLIT mode is preferred is that there is no doubt exactly when the VFO dial frequency is changed since the rig times the change exactly coincident with switching between Rx and Tx or vice versa as an atomic operation.
