The default in APRSISCE/32 out of the box is OpenStreetMaps which isn't
even listed on that Wiki page because it is hard-coded in the .EXE. The
server is tile.openstreetmap.org with the default of port 80 and a URL
of / which translates to /zoom/x/y.png as described at

In a quick test of the "Online" maps, OSM_tiled_mapnik.geo was the only one
I found that actually worked, the rest showed either file not found errors,
"bad Magick header" (meaning they were HTML error pages, not images), or
timed out.
Has anyone on the list been using a map other than OSM_tiled_mapnik.geo and
had it work? Looks like almost all of the servers we have relied on are
now
gone. OSM_tiled_mapnik still works, at least.
If this is the only one that works, then the others need to be removed from
our top-level Makefile.am (where the .geos are generated from a template).
I think all the weather radar maps are also broken, as their associated
servers vanished ages ago. Their associated geos should probably not be
installed anymore.
If anyone has information about new OSM servers that can replace those
we've
lost, it is not terribly difficult to add new ones --- a matter of
getting an appropriate URL and options strings to pass to the server.
I think the additional tile sets documented at the link below would work
with Xastir. I understand APRSIS32 uses the same OSM mapnik maps by
default that are working now in Xastir. There may be a few in the list
that are no longer working, but I'm not sure. I wouldn't expect to
implement all/most of these - just pick a few that are considered the most
useful. I like the mapquest street map as an alternative.
