Life is getting better! I learned more than I wanted to know about how Microsoft handles updates. After three failed attempt to reinstall Office 2008, I finally got to work. The key was to use the Remove Office to strip out the old stuff. I then started with my old 12.0.0 Office 2008 disc and had to use the Microsoft AutoUpdater to get it up to 12.1.0 and then run it again to get it up to 12.1.9. I could not use the already downloaded updater.
I have it working now the the installed updates equal the 12.1.9 version number. No crashes yet..... my fingers are crossed. BTW, any problem with trashing these files in that are installed in the Micorosoft Office 2008/Office folder?
