Whatever happened to those kind of people? I remember back when people did
favors and helped others without regard for themselves and that went around
and around and when you helped someone it did not feel like you were being
played or like someone was getting over on you.

I think when I realized that a lot of people were getting over on me it
changed my perception of life drastically and I cannot say that I have
gotten over that. Self-realization can be a bad thing (I am being ironic
now, for those who need Cliffs Notes).
