Kris, meaning no disrespect, but definitely meaning to challenge and 
encourage... .

To advertize and advocate Zen practice, for All, Kris, I will say:

"When even the most blustery fellow laughs, then we *know* we have the real 
thing."

Good for you, Edgar!  It shows through.  One practitioner to another.  As if 
we're really that separate!  Kudos, and continued strong practice.  Take good 
care of yourself.

Kris, what's YOUR excuse?  ;-)

PS  Not a man of faith, eh?  Faith in Oneself; faith in one's Teacher; faith in 
the Method of practice.  That is all, but that is WHAT is required.  After 
faith, comes Application... .  (another thread).
