In Dogen's country, proponents of Zen had gone bad, some of them. Too many for
Dogen's taste. We went back to the Old Country to re-boot his own practice.
The reason Japan went bad is: The Three Dusts and the Four Poisons.
You will not be surprised.
BTW, who says or said perfect? That would be you.
