Wow, my mother is the same way! This is incredible. I keep telling myself she doesn't really mean her insults or put downs, but I can't remember a time in my life when she didn't do it. It is like she feel intimidated if I can do anything or if I know something she doesn't know how to do. Maybe she is trying to stay dominant over me because I am her child, but I don't feel that way towards my grown kids, so why should I put up with it. I feel like it isn't fair if I say anything to defend myself because she is an old lady. I feel she won't be around very long and I don't want to cause upset in either of our lives. But I have put up with it for so long.
