The way I see it, a Brin book is appropriate. Practice Effect and Glory
Season have been (pretty much) done, so they should be left alone.
OTOH, the analysis of _Glory Season_ was never finished. I could put the
raw material on-line so that we can pick up where That Other List gave up.
I'm a bit scared to start any of the uplift stories right off--I think it
should be a book that stands alone.
That makes sense. We could all first get a feel for what it really means to
do such an in-depth analysis, before engaging in such an enormous project
as tackling two entire trilogies.
So this leaves: The Postman, Kiln People, and the two short story books.
(Or did I forget one? I did leave out Heart of the Comet and the
Foundation book. But those aren't really just Brin's ideas.)
Two other candidates are _Earth_ and _Tomorrow Happens_ (David Brin's
latest (third) short story collection).
Other than that, there's also _Forgiveness_ (Star Trek comic book),
_Contacting Aliens_ (Uplift companion book), _The Transparent Society_
(non-fiction) and the _Out of Time_ series. However, I don't see much point
in discussing a comic book and a companion book, there might not be much
fun in picking apart a non-fiction book, and the _Out of Time_ books
weren't written by David Brin (although they could be interesting enough to
analyse anyway).
