I have tried to setup a file acsi ( or whatever it is called ) using HD driver. I created a partition as required from the manual. In Hatari the HD status flashes when trying to access it from smsq. But for example format fails with medium detect failed. I remember this from a few years ago. It works on real hw but not in emulator. Same on mister. Emulating A TT is a nice workaround. [Ql-Users] wtd: QXL2
Hi Since I have set out on the quest of getting a dedicated QL like computer I am now considering the alternatives.. My first thought was to use my Atari, but since it got a very limited screen it is a little bit hard to use. I also found a DOS capable pc celeron 400Mz , so I tried QPC1. That worked very well , but seems to be limited to SMSQ/E 2.98. So I think I am out for a QXL 2 card, if that still works with recent SMSQ/E. So I wonders if anyone here have a card to sell me? Michael BTW, Many years ago I sold a Q40 to someone on this list. Hello , are you still here? ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Re: [Ql-Users] atari smsqe revisited
Ok, this is definitely wrong. I very strongly suspect that this is part of smsq_atari_hwinit_asm, which should however go : at_mdloop move.w (a0)+,(a1)+ (NOT moveq #$41,d5) cmpa.l a2,a1 blt.s at_mdlopp rts That's exactly what I thought about. You can check this, hopefully, by checking whether a few bytes before these instructions you find the string Use sprite for cursor. Yep I found that : disasm $12b40 $012b40 : 6052 bra.s $12b94 $012b42 : 7a4b moveq #$4b,d5 $012b44 : 6002 bra.s $12b48 $012b46 : 7a41 moveq #$41,d5 $012b48 : b3ca cmpa.la2,a1 $012b4a : 6dfa blt.s $12b46 $012b4c : 4e75 rts $012b4e : 6012 bra.s $12b62 This is right after the string. If this is really there, then somehow the instructions get corrupted, making the move.w (a0)+,(a1)+ into a moveq. Could you disassemble the code as of the address contained in A6, which is a few bytes before the loop? See above. Is there really no way you can insert a breakpoint into the code which would call up your debugger? No. I can set a breakpoint at a address. As I explained in the beginning of this thread it somehow relates to the TOS. The same SMSQ.PRG work with emutos but not with 1.62. I guess I can patch the binary. [Ql-Users] atari smsqe revisited
Hi As you may remember I have been trying to get recent SMSQE to run on my 1024 STe. I have tried to run in it the hatari emulator and it does work when booted with EMUTOS, but not with the standard STe TOS. With the standard TOS I get exactly the same behaviour as on real STe, a garbled screen. It might be possible to load EMUTOS on the real STe , but I wonders what might cause this error. As I reported before a very old SMSQ.PRG runs just fine. I have been looking on the initialisation code in SMSQE. One thing that might go wrong is the detection of wether it is ST or STe. Another idea is that the old SMSQ.PRG doesn't have support for STe and that it is that support that is broken somehow. I will try to rebuild SMSQE without the auto detection and also trying to force ST mode even if it is a STe. Can I build the system with SMSQmulator or do I need QPC2? In that case I need to wait a few days :) Michael ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

To answer this we really need more information on the type of files, but I am assuming they are mode 4 or mode 8 screens in _pic format. It is truecolor hires snapshots taken with the launchpad util. /Michael ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

[ql-users] QD
Hi all , Is there a way to have a normal cursor instead of a x in QD ? /Michael ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
Re: [ql-users] QD
In message [EMAIL PROTECTED] Marcel Kilgus [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Michael Grunditz wrote: Is there a way to have a normal cursor instead of a x in QD ? x means that it uses a sprite that cannot be displayed in the current colour mode. As it uses the system sprites you have probably loaded some system sprites that are incompatible with your colour mode. Oh thats why it displays normal on qpc. How do I solve this ? I have no x86 pc to use qpc on and I whant to use QD :) /Michael ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
Re: [ql-users] tk2_ext file
Not too sure what the status is now on this Tony?? There is a copy provided with some of the emulators and on the emulators CD (oops)... If it is still copyright, you can always buy a second hand Toolkit 2 ROM for £5 from me, and get the binary as well !! I have a few ROMs - not sure how many - probably Tony Firshman has some too. There is one supplied with Phoebus uqlx for mac but his site is down (?). /Michael ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.quanta.org.uk/mailing.htm
