If the correct driver shows up, then you should be set.
Plug in the printer cable to the Printer Port on the 6214 (power off,
of course!), turn on the printer and the 6214, select the printer
in the Chooser, try to print something.
Any idea what "broke" the ethernet connectio

Seems like a "classic" symptom of a dead PRAM battery. Sometimes you
can "test" this by letting it boot then quickly switching the power
off

Under the front lip there are two latches. I use a screwdriver
to gently pry them up while pulling on the front bezel.
The front hinges up. The hard drive is behind a metal door
held by one screw.

to "share" a

seem to recall that the Macs with on-board ethernet needed

If it is a "new" lapt

formatted, it has been working just fine, and is actually noticeably faster
than the two internal "true" 50-pin drives (the 18GB and another 2GB).

That's a PCI-based Power Mac clone, I believe. You can ask here, but you
may have more luck on the "PCI Power Macs" list. I know all about the
"Nubus" NewerTech accelerator, but not much about the PCI versions.

ight about the PS being OK. When my 8100 PS went bad, the
symptom was that it would initially start up, but it would suddenly shut off
without warning.
You probably have, but have you reset the PRAM (the OPT-CMD-R-P during
start-up procedure)?
Also, are you able to start-up from a bootable CD?
Folder available in case 9.2 does not work well.
Having said that, I don't have any direct experience with Power Mac 6300's.
I do know that it does not work with 8100's. I don't think 7100's and
6100's would have much luck either.

What do you mean "the kind with the switches?"
An Apple monitor should connect directy to an Apple
video port or with the "dongle" to the on-board video
of the 6100.
