Looks like that the menu is not displayed at all with a naked panel.
As i get back this menu after having recustomized the panel: adding (
right-click - add to panel) complete notification applet
notification area applet.
So its an incomplete design; every app should deal by default with such

so it is not reasonable to have a way to depend on them, the linux-
headers in my mind does mean 'there are valid binary headers' so I would
expect that to be only on the complete headers. Will spin some patches.

Each time I insert a blank DVD a window opens telling me that I just
inserted a blank DVD and asking what to do with it. Immediately another
window opens on top of it and reads Unable to mount Blank DVD-R Disc
Location is already mounted
