You're absolutely correct. Both JAVA and Adobe Flash are on everyone's hit list for having way too many security vulnerabilities. It's best you avoid installing them. You get more flexibility installing Adobe Flash on FireFox for you can enable it's use on a site by site basis. They may have

This is definitely on topic for this list. To get system information for your computer including whether it is 32 or 64 bit, press Windows key-Pause and use the JAWS cursor to read the information. The Pause key is the top right-most key on your keyboard above the numpad. Gerald
