Tom and Dave,
Microsoft still has the $69 per year subscription available. It is for one pc,
phone, and tablet.

I believe mine is $69 a year.
But, I think it depends upon when and how you got your initial subscription.
I purchased mine at Staples last May, when I think they had some sort of a
special going on.

Lately, it seems like if I just go to the desktop, sometimes that will make
Jaws return after a brief pause. It really doesn't seem to be predictable.

Tom, as a reminder, I find the most reliable way to get JAWS talking again is
to press JAWS key+Windows key+F4.

Hi,
I have been using office 365 on a monthly bases for now. I have my account
set to auto renew. I think if you go to office.copm as mentioned, you can
enable this. HTH.

Hello, all.
Sorry for the additional post, but I thought I should clarify that I'm using
Office 365, with Word 2016 and Outlook 2016 here.

I have a similar problem except it occurs whether it is Word, Word Pad or
Note Pad. I have gone back to using Jaws 16, where the same thing still
happens but not nearly as often. Tom

I'll need to try that since my problem parallels Tom's. However, sometimes
when Jaws crashes as he describes, most key strokes stop working.

Hello, everyone.
It seems that I have narrowed the Jaws crashing issue on my current Windows
7 computer down to the following sequence of events.
Jaws seems to crash when I exit Microsoft Word while Outlook is also open.
Once this happens, Jaws will stop speaking, and I can't re-activate
This happened to me once with Winamp and the problem was that the volume was
all the way down. If you can go through the motions of playing, then hold
down the up arrow, the sound may come back. Just a thought.
Good luck.

Good afternoon, listers, Brian Zolo here in Gahanna, Ohio feel free to call
me BZ, grin! My wife can't play any files in winamp. I checked the usual
things, file associations, output plugins, etc. I uninstalled winamp even
deleted the winamp folder in program files x86 since this is a windws 7
No external sound card. I will try narrator, but my sighted friend doesn't
see any thing out of the ordinary when this happens and she can't do any
thing with the mouse. Tom

Tom, you're more optimistic than me. I set the FS notification to "Never" or
its equivalent. Saves a step or two.

Hi Tom, are you using an external sound card?
Reason, I am, and whenever jaws crashes, I just unplug and plug it back and
it resolve the problem.
Another thing to try, if you have another screen reader, or narrator, load
it before you exit word and see if there is any message.

Well, I haven't tried that strategy yet, but will do so the next time the
crash occurs, which seems to be inevitable lately.

Well, I spoke too soon.
I just had the Jaws crash again, and your suggested command worked.
Thanks!
At least I can re-start things now if need be.
When the problem occurred, and I used the Jaws key Windows F4 command, I got
an error report dialog, and send that onto FS.
Tom Behler
I have that problem with outlook. I'm using Jaws 14. I use the insert
windows f4 command to force close Jaws, Then I can restart it.
