It's actually installing.
I'd once miserably failed to install an earlier version on real hardware.
It's good to see it installing on Qemu.

Post again when it's actually running.
It would be interesting to see if it works.

Telstraclear killed my internet at 1:52 this morning, and it's still
dead. Apparently they did some scheduled network upgrade with Sky etc
(it annoys me they never bother to tell anyone), and when they finished
at 6 or so, people with a Surfboard cable modem found they couldn't log
in any more.

IMHO a customer should not have to go to the homepage of their isp to
see a service announcement. Its simple enough for an isp to email their
customers. Most people on broadband connections get their email in
(almost) real time. I almost never visit paradise or orcon's home page.

Same here. I recently had a similar experience
Possibly OT for some, but the following list of free fonts [1] was sent
to me.

A few of the descriptions and download pages are in German, but I could
figure out how to download them ☺
Now for a tip: To Install Fonts
No. You are assuming that:
a) The customer uses the ISP's email service
or
b) the customer has provided a real email address to the ISP for such a
purpose
and
c) the customer has not set up a spam filter to filter out all the helpful
messages and special offers from said ISP

Yes. I agree with you all. My point was there's no point in complaining
here about something you were never offered. Just because you think it's
simple and obvious doesn't mean that someone else does. If you think it's
a reasonable enough thing then call Paradise Customer Services and ask

I never complained about *that* there is an outage, things happen
(though it's now approaching 12 hours), I asked whether anyone knew any
interesting details about why (by the sound of the techie) almost all
Surfboard modems aren't reconnecting.
On Paradise's home page was a statement that there

Apparently they sent a snail-mail

There's nothing in the TC about announcing outages, so there's no reason
to expect any notification. In fact the only thing they say they will send
to you is an account for services used.
There used to be an option to subscribe to such announcements before they
became part of a large

It is my intention to use slackware to run the sat dish, but have not yet

and then you can help me ;)
My main use for slackware now is a file server with pioneer 6 disk cd

(8 of) which hold my mp3 files.
