Telstraclear killed my internet at 1:52 this morning, and it's still dead. Apparently they did some scheduled network upgrade with Sky etc (it annoys me they never bother to tell anyone), and when they finished at 6 or so, people with a Surfboard cable modem found they couldn't log in any more.

IMHO a customer should not have to go to the homepage of their isp to see a service announcement. Its simple enough for an isp to email their customers. Most people on broadband connections get their email in (almost) real time. I almost never visit paradise or orcon's home page. On Wed, 19 Oct

It is my intention to use slackware to run the sat dish, but have not yet done so (maybe Christmas I'll have time), so you can sort out the problems and then you can help me ;) My main use for slackware now is a file server with pioneer 6 disk cd changers (8 of) which hold my mp3 files. Gary
