I am just playing around with LyX and tried to change a footnote to an endnote
in a report class document using the commands
\usepackage{endnotes}
\let\footnote=\endnote
It seems that the endnote disappears. It works fine in article class. Any
suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

I was just playing around with LyX (2.0.6) and decided to put a drop-cap at the
beginning of something I was writing and to my surprise the Short Title option
is greyed out.
The strange thing is that a) I got it to work fine last week, b) the examples I
created last week compile just fine
I'd say a little LaTeX knowledge is useful--don't overdo it. I put together a
14 page report in LateX that taught me enough about some of the underlying
mechanics of LyX to be helpful.
I don't think I'm ever going to be an exclusive LaTeX user..

I've been using it a bit over the last 2-3 months, just playing around really
as I have not needed Lyx that much over the summer. I've had some problem with
the preview but so far anyway I have gotten

I managed to fix the problem by just downloading a new copy of the
reference from Medline. I though that I had already tried it but
apparently I had just re-exported the entry from Zotero with the same
problem.
