copy/paste text with single quotes (') from outside (windows) doesn't work for me :( highlight the text in your WinApplication and use Strg-c (C-c) to copy it to the clipboard. Then change to LyX and press the middle mouse button. The (') doesn't matter. this doesn't work from word :(
