Good luck. I read the list when I get some spare time, which may be
several short periods each day. Sometimes sorting by subject, and then
deleting

In my world this is a moderate activity list. I get to the list mail
and news groups I follow 2-3 times
I probably read about 10-20 per cent of the emails I get...

I read all day long. The list is the only thing that saves me from the
drudgery of my job.

Interesting question.
I subscribe to the Digest version, as with 2 other lists. I find this
more to my liking, because I'm not able to be in front of a computer
continuously all day. However, I do frequently get my email on the fly
from a PowerBook and mobile (cell) phone. Connection speeds
I have my personal e-mail client up at work all day long. As messages come
in I look at the subject and decide if I want to read it or not. Lots gets
deleted without hesitation.
I never really feel inundated because I'm not compelled to read it all.
